Musical, sociable evening with flute band

LANGHOLM flute band held its agm and social evening in the Buck Hotel last Thursday when members got together to play a few tunes.

Some of them played Cornet Graeme Murray and his right and left-hand men Derek Hogg and Simon Richardson into the hall.

Roddy Innes was in charge of proceedings and during the evening he made a presentation of an inscribed tankard to Cornet Murray, with semi-jubilee Cornet Kenneth Donaldson receiving a special bottle of whisky, which was presented by Charlie Graham.

The rest of the evening was given over to socialising, with some of the flautists playing tunes and a number of singers entertaining the gathering.
